About Boris Goldstein
Born and raised in Latvia, Boris Goldstein exhibited an exceptional grasp for mathematics at an early age. He began programming using an assembly language at age 16 and worked with microprocessors, computers, and microcontrollers. By 17, Boris Goldstein was recognized as a top 10 software developer, earning exemption from attending university lectures.
Even as he was obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics at Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte, the Riga Technical University, Mr. Goldstein began working as a system software specialist. After his undergraduate education, he pursued a doctoral program and began development of software that would compete with the Oracle database. He also explored alternative energy and cluster analysis of Rorschach inkblot tests using complex algorithms. By the time he was 22, Boris Goldstein had earned a strong reputation as a young inventor and was already filing more than 20 patents and inventions per year. An entrepreneur, Mr. Goldstein founded Software House High Technology (HT). Gathering a team of talented software developers, he and his colleagues created software packages used by banks, treasury departments, and corporate enterprises. The company quickly expanded operations to include hardware and computer manufacturing; in three years, Software House HT was noted as a leader in software and hardware development in 12 countries. Not content with one exceptional company, Boris Goldstein next co-founded Solby, a holding company with investment interests in a variety of industries all over the world. As Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, he supervised the company’s overall investment strategy and managed a slew of other responsibilities. He and his family relocated to California in 1991 when Solby expanded its offices to the United States. At present, Boris Goldstein is the Managing Director of Pacific Venture Fund, and sits on the advisory boards of numerous companies. |
